A new information leak from a well-known insider Digital Chat Station on the Chinese social network Weibo has revealed the most detailed specifications of the upcoming Redmi K100 Pro smartphone three months before its official announcement. The published list of specifications is unusually complete for such an early stage. According to this information, the upcoming flagship will be equipped with a 200-megapixel main camera and a 50-megapixel periscopic telephoto lens.
The visual part will be represented by a large 6.9-inch OLED screen with a 1.5K resolution, which supports a record refresh rate of 185 Hz. The device’s high performance will be ensured by the latest Snapdragon 8 Elite Gen 5 processor from Qualcomm, and the battery capacity of 9000 mAh will be responsible for its autonomy. In addition, support for 100W fast wired charging technology and 50W wireless power replenishment is announced.
Particular attention in the new data is paid to the battery, as the first digit in its capacity is clearly defined as a nine. This indicates that the actual battery capacity will range from 9000 mAh to 9999 mAh. This information refutes the previous May publications, which mentioned a more modest 8500 mAh. The latest report from an insider is a more recent and accurate source of information. Additionally, the presence of symmetrical dual stereo speakers, which the developers call the most powerful in their market segment, has been confirmed. The smartphone will also have an enlarged vibration motor, an ultrasonic in-screen fingerprint scanner with three-dimensional recognition, and a high level of protection against moisture according to IP68 and IP69 standards. The body of the new device will be made of a metal frame and a glass back panel, and the overall design concept will be based on Apple’s style.
In the new lineup, the Redmi K100 Pro version will take a clear position between the basic Redmi K100 and the premium Redmi K100 Pro Max. The junior model will have a 6.59-inch screen, a similar Snapdragon 8 Elite Gen 5 chipset, and an 8000 mAh battery. In turn, the most expensive representative of the series, Redmi K100 Pro Max, will be powered by the advanced Snapdragon 8 Elite Gen 6 Pro platform manufactured using a two-nanometer process, will have up to 16 GB of modern LPDDR6 RAM and a 1 TB storage capacity. This structure demonstrates the formation of a full-fledged three-tiered family of gadgets with a noticeable difference in characteristics. The expected starting price of the basic Redmi K100 modification will be about $585.
As for the appearance, the insider in the comments to his publication separately emphasized the inspiration of Apple’s ideas when designing the Redmi K100 Pro. This step reflects the general trend among Chinese manufacturers, which are gradually abandoning curved displays in favor of completely flat screens, clearly defined edges, and a minimalist design of the camera unit. This doesn’t mean a complete copy of the iPhone’s look, but it does indicate a shift in Redmi’s brand priorities. Instead of the aggressive gaming style characteristic of previous generations, the emphasis is now on a restrained and premium visual perception of the device.
