YouTube Music has received an update that solves one of the most annoying problems for users who listen to music on multiple devices. The service now automatically synchronizes the playlist between all active sessions, allowing you to continue listening uninterrupted no matter which device you’re using. Previously, the “Now Playing” queue on Android and iOS smartphones worked separately and was not connected to the web version of the service. Even if the user was listening to music through a browser, the mobile app did not display the current playback status, forcing them to manually search for the desired song or restore the playlist.

After the update, Google changed this logic. Now, when you open the mobile app, the mini-player displays the last track that was played on any of the connected devices. The user sees a special message like “From your iPhone” or “From your browser” that temporarily replaces the standard information about the artist. This indicator remains active until a new playback starts.
In addition, YouTube Music now synchronizes the song queue itself. The service seems to prioritize the last active session regardless of the device. This means that a new queue can automatically replace or update the existing one on the current gadget.

The feature is especially useful for users who regularly switch between smartphones, tablets, and the browser version of the service. This approach significantly improves the daily listening experience and reduces the number of manual actions.
At the same time, there is still room for further improvements. It would be convenient to have a separate setting that would allow you to split queues or music sessions between different devices. However, even in its current form, the new feature is an important step forward and makes YouTube Music much more convenient for cross-platform use.
