Painting PC is now available on Steam. The game was developed by the Belgian studio Oisoi Studio, known for Painting VR, which has already been played by over 130,000 users. But while Painting VR focuses on the virtual process of painting, Painting PC centers on building an artist’s career.

After the initial announcement of Painting PC, there were many comments from the community asking for more gameplay mechanics. Oisoi Studio listened to the feedback and revised the concept. As a result, after the updated project was announced, the number of Steam wishlist additions for the game rose to 40,000 in less than a week. To celebrate the release, the studio is offering a 10% discount, valid through July 10.

The game is dedicated to building a career as an artist and everything that goes with it: fulfilling commissions, working with clients, building a reputation, publishing your own work online, and hoping that people will like it. Players start out with a single paintbrush, no followers, and a simple studio that needs to be set up. To do this, you need to earn money by fulfilling client commissions – some of whom know exactly what they want, while others only think they do. And these two things are far from always the same. The higher the quality of the work, the more you’ll be paid.

Once the artwork is complete, you can publish it on Paintigraph – the game’s built-in social platform. If users like your work, you’ll gain new followers. As their number grows, the user will gain access to new brushes and tools, allowing them to approach future commissions in new ways. You can spend the money you earn on furniture, decorations, and other items for your own studio. As a result, it can turn into a cozy creative space.

“We wanted to build a game around the idea of being an artist, not just painting,” said Wim Reygaert, co-founder of Oisoi Studio. “Painting is only part of it. There’s also the clients, the followers, the studio, and all the unexpected things that happen along the way.”

In the game, you must fulfill orders from clients who evaluate your work in different ways. To one, you’ll be the next Michelangelo, while another will remain dissatisfied. The player’s goal is to complete the work, receive a good rating, and earn money. Painting PC can appeal to both beginners and experienced artists. At the same time, it doesn’t force you to rush or worry about mistakes, so you can simply paint and experiment with creative ideas.
