Today, the Ukrainian studio GSC Game World announced the release date for the S.T.A.L.K.E.R. 2: Cost of Hope expansion. According to the announcement, the long-awaited DLC will be available for PC, Xbox Series S|X, and PlayStation 5 on Thursday, August 20, 2026.

In this non-linear story arc, the long-standing conflict between the Zone’s two dominant factions, Duty and Will, will enter a new phase. As tensions escalate and the fragile peace between them crumbles, the very future of the Zone will be threatened. In ‘Cost of Hope’, players will once again take on the role of Skif – the protagonist of ‘S.T.A.L.K.E.R. 2: Heart of Chornobyl‘. A mysterious signal will draw him into events that unfold in parallel with the main storyline.

Skif will have to choose between the philosophies of Freedom and Duty and try to figure out on his own what lies at the heart of the Zone, which until now has been off-limits to all stalkers. “The approaches to the Center are more tightly sealed than ever.
