NVIDIA introduced Cloud G-SYNC technology for cloud gaming

-

NVIDIA introduced Cloud G-SYNC technology, which aims to improve the gaming streaming experience for GeForce NOW users. Exclusive to GeForce NOW RTX 4080 SuperPOD models at the Ultimate subscription level, Cloud G-SYNC synchronizes the display’s refresh rate with cloud game streams, minimizing screen tearing and stuttering for smoother gameplay. This feature also includes Reflex technology to reduce lag in cloud gaming.

To use Cloud G-SYNC, users must have hardware with a refresh rate higher than 60Hz and support variable refresh rate (VRR) technology, such as NVIDIA G-SYNC, AMD FreeSync or Apple ProMotion. Cloud G-SYNC is only available through native GeForce NOW apps and does not extend to browser, mobile, or TV clients.

Windows systems require a minimum NVIDIA Turing graphics card requirement (GTX 16 or RTX 20 series), excluding Intel or AMD GPU support. In addition, the macOS version of the app supports all Apple Silicon models and some Intel-based Mac models, including certain MacBook Pro, MacBook Air, iMac, and Mac Pro configurations.

It is important to ensure that GeForce-equipped systems have at least driver version R545 to support Cloud G-SYNC. However, NVIDIA clarifies that Windows does not support this feature for multiple monitors. Along with Cloud G-SYNC, NVIDIA also launched the GeForce NOW cloud gaming day pass, offering Priority and Ultimate editions for $3.99 and $7.99, respectively.
