The Security Service of Ukraine (SBU) has conducted a new, targeted special operation that successfully struck the Crimean Bridge for the third time – this time from underwater. The announcement was made on the official Facebook page of the SBU.

According to the post, the operation was months in the making. During this time, SBU agents managed to plant explosives on the support structures of the illegally constructed bridge. At 4:44 a.m., without any civilian casualties, the first explosive device was detonated. The underwater bases of the bridge’s supports, located at the seabed level, sustained serious damage. The blast was equivalent to 1,100 kg of TNT. As a result, the bridge is now effectively in a critical, near-collapse condition.

The head of the Security Service of Ukraine, Lieutenant General Vasyl Maliuk, personally oversaw the operation and was involved in coordinating its planning.

“God loves the Trinity, and the SBU always sees its missions through without repeating itself,” Maliuk stated. “We previously struck the Crimean Bridge twice – in 2022 and 2023. Today, we’ve continued that tradition – this time, from underwater.” He emphasized that there is no place for illegal Russian infrastructure on Ukrainian territory.

“The Crimean Bridge is a fully legitimate target, especially given that the enemy has been using it as a key logistics route to supply its forces,” Maliuk added. “Crimea is part of Ukraine, and any signs of occupation will be met with a firm response.”

It’s worth recalling that the SBU recently carried out a historic operation known as “Pavutýna” (“The Web”). Using drones secretly transported into Russian territory, the agency struck over 40 military aircraft. Targets included models like the A-50, Tu-95, Tu-22M3, and Tu-160. These aircraft were located at four military airfields deep inside Russia: Belaya, Dyagilevo, Olenya, and Ivanovo.

“In total, we’re talking about disabling 34% of Russia’s strategic cruise missile carriers at its primary airbases,” said Vasyl Maliuk. “This wasn’t just a devastating blow to enemy aviation – it was a major strike against the military strength and terrorist nature of the Russian Federation.” The estimated value of the destroyed strategic aircraft is over $7 billion.
