The new Sony FE 50-150mm F2 GM telephoto lens is now officially available for purchase in Ukraine. This lens is designed as a versatile option for professional photography, particularly suited for weddings, portraits, and fast-paced indoor events. With a focal length range from 50 to 150mm and a constant aperture of F2, the lens delivers consistent image quality even in challenging lighting conditions. It joins Sony’s premium G Master series, known for combining high resolution with smooth, cinematic bokeh.
The FE 50-150mm F2 GM lens is designed to deliver exceptional image quality from the very first shot. Its optical construction includes two XA (extreme aspherical) elements, two Super ED (extra-low dispersion) elements, and three ED elements, all working together to effectively reduce aberrations. This results in high sharpness and contrast across the entire focal range. The lens offers a minimum focusing distance of 0.4 meters at the wide end and a maximum magnification ratio of 0.20, enabling detailed close-up shots.
For portrait and artistic photography, having smooth, natural bokeh is important – a quality delivered by the 11-blade circular aperture typical of the G Master series. Sony’s Nano AR Coating II is evenly applied to the lens elements, significantly reducing flare and ghosting, even in challenging backlighting conditions.
The lens measures approximately 200 mm in length and weighs 1340 g. Thanks to its internal zoom mechanism, the physical size remains constant during zooming, which helps maintain stability during shooting, especially when using a tripod or stabilizer.
