Google’s Pixel Tablet appears to be nearing the end of its short life cycle. The device, now three years old, has begun to disappear from Google’s online stores, and several signs already point to the end of its production. These changes also raise the question once again of whether Google plans to return to the tablet market with a new Pixel-branded device.
The Pixel Tablet has disappeared from the Google Store, and Google has also removed the “Tablet” category from the main navigation menu. A direct link to the product page now redirects to the Google Store homepage, making it difficult to find any official references to the device.

Before being completely removed, the tablet was already listed as “out of stock,” although some accessories for it are still listed in the store, including the Pixel Tablet Case and Charging Speaker Dock. Even so, most of them are no longer available. It appears the device has also all but disappeared from third-party retailers: Amazon doesn’t have it in stock, and Best Buy lists the tablet as unavailable in new condition.

Google introduced the Pixel Tablet in 2023 as a hybrid device that could function as a regular Android tablet and, when mounted on the Charging Speaker Dock, as a display for controlling a smart home. In the U.S., the device launched at a price of $499, while the docking station was sold separately, making it the only tablet in Google’s current lineup.
It was reported that the company was allegedly considering developing the next generation, the Pixel Tablet 2, which was supposed to feature a 120 Hz display and support for external 4K displays. However, according to reports, the tech giant scrapped those plans because it was unsure of the device’s profitability. It was also reported that a potential third-generation model had been put on hold.
Interestingly, Google had previously promised to release software updates for the Pixel Tablet through June 2028. The company has not yet clearly stated whether this support commitment will change, but the removal of the tablet from the store makes the release of a second-generation model increasingly unlikely. For current owners, the main question remains: how will Google continue to support the device after sales have ended?
