Amazon is launching a reality show in the Fallout universe called Fallout Shelter. While the second season of the Fallout series is still running on Prime Video, the company is already expanding the franchise with a new format. The project will have 10 episodes and will be produced by Studio Lambert, known for Squid Game: The Challenge and The Traitors. Todd Howard, Head of Bethesda Game Studios, will act as an executive producer.

Amazon describes Fallout Shelter as follows: “In a series of increasingly difficult challenges, strategic dilemmas, and moral quandaries, participants must demonstrate their ingenuity, teamwork, and resilience as they compete for safety, power, and ultimately a huge cash prize.” The format resembles a side quest from the Fallout game with an emphasis on survival, black humor, and social experiments.

The name of the show refers to the mobile game Fallout Shelter by Bethesda released in 2015. In the game, players build and develop the Vault Tec shelter, managing resources for a community of underground dwellers. The game and the reality show are likely to have a thematic connection, but the details are promised to be revealed closer to the premiere. The casting of participants is currently underway, and the release date has not yet been announced.
