Garmin is expanding its line of premium marine wearables with the new quatix 8 Pro. The new flagship smartwatch is designed for users who spend a lot of time on the water and need reliable communication and navigation away from shore.
Externally, the quatix 8 Pro is almost identical to its predecessor. The watch has a 47mm titanium frame, sapphire crystal with increased scratch resistance, and a 1.4-inch AMOLED display with high brightness. The screen is easy to read in direct sunlight and is designed to withstand salt water, splashes, and prolonged exposure to the sea.

A key feature of the quatix 8 Pro is the connectivity system. Garmin solves one of the main problems of sea travel – loss of communication. The watch combines inReach satellite technology and an LTE module, which allows you to stay connected at a distance of up to 80 km from the shore. Users can send text messages, make voice calls, and check the weather forecast without a smartphone.

There is also an SOS function for emergencies. The signal is sent directly to Garmin’s round-the-clock response center, which, according to the company, has already helped coordinate more than 1,200 rescue operations on the water.
The software has a new Boat mode. The interface automatically changes depending on the environment. While on the water, the screen displays marine tools, including autopilot control, trolling motor status, and vessel data. When you return to land, the interface switches to everyday applications, health indicators, and sports functions.

Despite the bright AMOLED display and constant connectivity, Garmin claims up to 15 days of battery life in smartwatch mode. In addition to its marine features, the quatix 8 Pro supports round-the-clock health tracking, Garmin Pay, and more than 100 sport modes, including water sports such as wakeboarding and water skiing.
The Garmin quatix 8 Pro is available in a single 47 mm version for $1299.99, and is scheduled to launch on January 16.
