SpaceXAI Aerospace Corporation has officially merged its brand with the most controversial artificial intelligence system on the market today, and we can only wish them success in this endeavor. While U.S. federal authorities have managed to temporarily block foreign nationals from using Anthropic’s latest AI system and, according to available information, have delayed the unveiling of the updated GPT-5 technology,While OpenAI’s GPT-6 Sol was blocked due to security concerns, the latest version of the Grok bot was able to bypass such administrative hurdles without issue. As a result, Grok 4.5 became available to the general public on Wednesday, marking the debut of an AI product released under the auspices of the newly formed SpaceXAI.

Representatives of Elon Musk’s rocket, social, and technology corporation claim that the Grok 4.5 version is their most intelligent solution, created specifically to achieve high performance in writing software code, performing autonomous agent functions, and solving various information-related tasks. Notably, this release is the company’s first product following the signing of an official partnership agreement with the developers of the Cursor programming platform. SpaceXAI experts specifically emphasized that their latest development demonstrates high efficiency when performing real-world technical and consulting tasks, proving equally useful in both engineering and routine office work. They also claimed that their model outperforms other leading market competitors in these specific areas.

Despite these bold claims, according to the results of most key synthetic tests, Grok still lags significantly behind industry leaders. It is unable to catch up with Claude’s Fable 5 system – a safe version of the ultra-powerful Mythos architecture – and also trails OpenAI’s GPT-5 model.5 from OpenAI, which, moreover, is no longer even considered this developer’s cutting-edge flagship product. In the vast majority of test scores and benchmarks, Grok 4.5 demonstrates performance that is virtually identical to that of Anthropic’s Opus 4.8 system, even though this competing product entered the market several months ago.

The developers are positioning the Grok bot’s high operating speed and attractive pricing as its main advantages and selling points. According to Elon Musk, who posted a statement on the X platform, the newly unveiled product belongs to the Opus class of systems but operates significantly faster, consumes fewer resources during information processing, and requires significantly lower costs. To support this claim, company representatives released data showing that using Grok 4.5 will cost customers approximately $2 per million input tokens and $6 per million output tokens. By comparison, according to the industry resource The Decoder, running the Opus 4.8 system costs users $5 per million input tokens and $25 per million output tokens. Anthropic’s most powerful model, Fable, requires even greater investment: $10 per million input tokens and $50 per million output tokens.

The term “cheap” is hardly a word the average person would typically associate with SpaceX’s operations; however, overall, the Grok project seems somewhat out of place within this framework. Until now, SpaceX management has somehow managed to shield the space company’s reputation from the negative aura created by Elon Musk’s personal brand, preventing his scandals from harming the company. However, a direct association with the Grok product will be a serious test of the aerospace brand’s stability and credibility. It is very difficult to avoid reputational damage when your name begins to be inextricably linked to an AI model that, at this stage of its existence, has gained the most notoriety for generating pornographic images without the models’ consent, including material involving minors. Such an achievement on an industrial scale is an extremely dubious and shameful “advantage” – the worst kind one could possibly imagine.

Since the updated Grok system apparently did not raise any concerns or cause any delays on the part of government regulatory agencies during the audit, you can start using Grok 4.5’s features today. The tool is available in the Grok Build engineering environment, as part of any Cursor service plan, and directly via the management console on the SpaceXAI website.
