Honor is set to revolutionize battery life: a smartphone with a record-breaking 14,000 mAh battery capacity is on the way. According to information from the well-known insider Digital Chat Station, development of this model has already moved into the new product introduction (NPI) phase, confirming the manufacturer’s intention to bring this concept to mass production. The arrival of a device with a 14,000 mAh battery on the commercial market will leave today’s standard flagship models far behind. To put this into perspective, this figure is nearly three times the battery capacity of the iPhone 17 Pro, which is 4,252 mAh. Despite the massive battery capacity, the leak suggests that the device’s final weight will remain within 220 g. That’s quite a lot for the smartphone segment, but the figure seems surprisingly modest given the device’s internal specifications.

Honor already has a track record of success in this specific area. Earlier this year, the brand released the Win Turbo model, which surpassed the 10,000 mAh mark. It was followed by the X80 Pro Max, which features an 11,000 mAh battery paired with a Snapdragon 6 Gen 5 processor, enabling over 26 hours of continuous live streaming. It is expected that the move to a 14,000 mAh battery will take battery life to a whole new level.
Other major industry players are also picking up on this trend of tackling the problem of rapid battery drain. Alongside the news about Honor, the same source reported that Huawei is working on its own smartphone project. Its key features will include an ultra-powerful battery, support for satellite connectivity, and an aggressive maximum power-saving mode.
