The schematics of the new Moto G87 smartphone have appeared on the official support pages, providing access to the appearance and some early details. The device was also placed in the assortment of a European retailer, which allowed us to obtain additional information and get a general idea of the future product. It looks like Motorola is once again preparing to expand the Moto G lineup. Just three months after the release of the Moto G67 and G77, the first signs of a new model – the Moto G87 – have appeared on the web. The phone supports memory expansion via a hybrid SIM card slot with microSD support for up to 2 TB. This is a significant advantage for users who work with large media files.
More specific information came from the Italian retailer Epto, which has placed the Moto G87 in two variants, both with 8 GB of RAM and 256 GB of storage. The listed price is €406.89. This is slightly higher than the Moto G77 and G67, which indicates that the device is positioned between them or slightly higher in the lineup.
The color scheme this time also seems to be one of the priorities. The retailer’s listing mentions Pantone Overture Gray and Pantone Blue Atoll shades. The firmware leak hints at more finishes, including Arctic Seal, Black Olive, Nile, and Shaded Spruce, so the color range may be wider at launch.
Under the hood, the Moto G87 is codenamed “Naples” and is associated with the MT6835 platform. This indicates a MediaTek Dimensity 6000 series chip, although the specific version is still unknown. Judging by the previous models, the performance will be at the usual mid-range level.
Information about the display, cameras, and battery is not yet available, but early details indicate a focus on practicality. Given that the official pages are already active, and retailers have placed the device in their catalogs, a full-fledged announcement seems to be just around the corner.
