OnePlus is preparing to release the Ace 6 Extreme Edition, which tries to go beyond the usual idea of “gaming smartphones”, which are often limited to backlighting and an inflated price. This time, the brand is offering a device with really aggressive specs that look like a direct challenge to the market leaders.
At the heart of the smartphone is the Dimensity 9500 processor, a solution from MediaTek that now competes on equal terms with the best chipsets. The architecture features a dedicated Fengchi gaming core designed to optimize performance and temperature control under high loads.
The visual experience is provided by an advanced display from BOE with a refresh rate of 165 Hz. This rate brings the picture smoothness closer to the level of professional gaming monitors, making the picture as vivid as possible compared to standard panels. The body of the device is made with a metal middle frame, which adds strength and weight to the structure. The back panel is covered with glass using three-dimensional light engraving technology, which creates a premium look, although it may be prone to fingerprints.
The biggest surprise of the announcement was the release of a full-fledged portable console as a companion device. This is not just a smartphone holder, but a standalone platform with physical buttons and an ergonomic dual-grip design. The console has a large screen and a similar premium finish. OnePlus is betting on serious mobile gaming, offering real physical controls that the industry has been waiting for a long time. The release of both new products is expected this month, and although there are still questions about software optimization, the declared technical parameters look extremely convincing.
