Redmi has officially set the date for the presentation of new Turbo 5 smartphones in the Chinese market. At the same time, the brand showed the Turbo 5 Max version in a bright orange color and shared the first details about the design and technical features of the new products. In a post on Weibo, the company confirmed that the Redmi Turbo 5 and Turbo 5 Max will be unveiled on January 29. Along with the new smartphones, the brand also plans to announce Buds 8 Pro wireless headphones and Pad 2 Pro tablet in a special Harry Potter Edition.

Redmi said that all models of the Turbo 5 series will feature a CNC-machined metal frame, rounded body corners, a fiberglass back, and a dual LED flash system.

The older Turbo 5 Max model will be available in Ocean Breeze Blue and Sunrise Orange colors. The smartphone will be equipped with a MediaTek Dimensity 9500s processor and a 9000 mAh battery with 100W wired charging support. President of the company Lu Weibing emphasized the key advantage of Turbo 5 Max. The device will receive Xiaomi’s proprietary 9000 mAh Jinshajiang battery, which will be the largest in the brand’s history.

According to the executive, this solution is focused on maximum autonomy and stable operation under load. The new battery has a high-energy density of 894 Wh/l, reduced weight and extended service life. It supports 100W fast wired charging and 27W reverse wired charging. The battery is covered by a 5-year warranty.
As already mentioned, in terms of performance, the Turbo 5 Max relies on the flagship Dimensity 9500s platform, which demonstrates a record-breaking benchmark score of 3.61 million points. A three-dimensional cooling system is provided for stable gaming performance, and the new Rage Engine software module optimizes the load and helps maintain a stable FPS.

The smartphone will also feature LPDDR5X RAM and UFS 4.1 storage, which provides high read and write speeds and is in line with the device’s flagship positioning.
