Meta has announced the release of two new models of AI-enabled smart glasses designed specifically for people who constantly wear corrective lenses.

The new products are called Ray-Ban Meta Blazer Optics (Gen 2) and Ray-Ban Meta Scriber Optics (Gen 2). Unlike previous iterations, where support for prescription lenses was only an option, these devices were designed from the outset to meet the needs of visually impaired users.

The glasses are characterized by an increased level of comfort for long-term wear: they are equipped with special hinges with excessive expansion, interchangeable nose pads and temple tips that can be adjusted by opticians to fit individual face shapes. The Blayzer model has a rectangular frame, while the Scriber has a more rounded style. The price starts at $499, and official sales in optical stores and international markets will begin on April 14.

In addition to the new models, Meta has updated its existing Ray-Ban Meta and Oakley Meta line with fresh colors and lens options, including Transitions photochromic lenses. However, the main innovation was the expanded functionality of artificial intelligence.

One of the most anticipated options is nutrition tracking: users can record their meals using voice commands or a quick photo, after which Meta AI automatically calculates the nutritional value and enters the data into the log. It has also added a WhatsApp message summary function and a “recall” system that allows users to easily return to important information.

The company claims that these glasses are the most comfortable in the brand’s history and are suitable for all-day use, transforming the gadget from a niche accessory into a practical tool for everyday life.
