The vivo company, which does not always present its gadgets outside of China, seems to be reconsidering its global strategy. As expected, the company demonstrated its flagship smartphone X300 Ultra equipped with a 200-megapixel sensor at MWC 2026. This is not yet an official presentation, but rather a build-up of intrigue around what is to come. At the same time, the company introduced two accessories aimed at professional photographers and content creators: a SmallRig video cage and a Zeiss telephoto lens with a focal length of 400 mm.

The vivo has not yet disclosed the detailed specifications of the new product, but we can expect a high-performance processor, high-quality display, a capacious battery, and other premium components during the full announcement. At the same time, it has already been confirmed that, like the X300 Pro, the Ultra version will have a 200-megapixel main camera and will most likely support 4K video recording at 120 frames per second in Dolby Vision HDR.

One of the key features will be the ability to use an additional accessory – the vivo Zeiss Telephoto Extender Gen 2 Ultra lens with an equivalent focal length of 400 mm. This module provides approximately eight times the standard angle of view, and in combination with high-quality digital zoom, the zooming potential increases even further. The manufacturer also claims optical image stabilization and motion tracking technology with autofocus.

Along with the telephoto lens, vivo presented a professional shooting cage created in collaboration with the well-known accessory manufacturer SmallRig. The design has an expandable format, several cold shoe mounts, and quick-release ports for connecting grips, lighting, or microphones. There are physical buttons for shutter release and zoom control, as well as a multi-level cooling fan for stable operation of the smartphone under load. Additionally, the kit includes a frame for mounting the X300 Ultra Telephoto Extender.

During the demonstration at MWC 2026 in Barcelona, the device aroused considerable interest. The company emphasized that the X300 Ultra is planned to enter international markets, but specific countries and prices have not yet been announced (but, if anything, the X300 Pro in Europe costs about €1400). The company noted that this move “signals a more proactive and confident approach by vivo to expanding its presence in the global premium smartphone segment.” At the same time, it remains an open question whether professional content creators will choose such a smartphone or a full-fledged mirrorless camera with a lens at the likely high price.
