The GSMA IMEI database has revealed Samsung’s plans to expand its upcoming flagship lineup, which will apparently include a completely new model unlike any other in the Galaxy S26 series. Three as-yet-unannounced mobile devices from the South Korean manufacturer were spotted in the database, and one of these gadgets is explicitly labeled as the Galaxy S27 Pro.

According to the published data, the model number SM-S956U corresponds to the Galaxy S27 Plus, the model number SM-S957B/DS belongs to the Galaxy S27 Pro variant, and the model number SM-S958U indicates the premium Galaxy S27 Ultra. It’s worth noting that the base Galaxy S27 model underwent certification earlier this month. Thus, this information confirms Samsung’s intention to launch four smartphones in this series at once: the standard version, the Plus and Ultra variants, and the all-new Pro model. In addition, by the end of 2027, Samsung may expand this family even further with the release of a simplified Galaxy S27 FE model.

In the lineup, the version with the “Pro” prefix will occupy a middle ground between the S27 Plus and S27 Ultra models. Samsung has already used similar naming conventions in its portfolio, specifically in the names of the Galaxy Note Pro tablet, the rugged XCover6 Pro smartphone, the budget-friendly J7 Pro, and even the Galaxy Pro mobile phone with a full physical keyboard, which was released in 2010. However, for the main Galaxy S flagship lineup, this will be the first time in history that a “Pro” version has been introduced.
As for the Galaxy S27 Pro’s technical specifications, the device is expected to feature a high-quality 6.47-inch Dynamic AMOLED 2x display. At the same time, this device will not support the proprietary S Pen stylus. The camera module on the back will boast impressive specs: a 200-megapixel main sensor, a 50-megapixel wide-angle module with autofocus, and a 50-megapixel telephoto lens that will provide 3.5x optical zoom. A 12-megapixel front-facing camera is included for taking selfies.
As noted earlier, thanks to the use of advanced ALoP technology in the 50-megapixel telephoto lens, the S27 Pro is capable of delivering image quality that surpasses that of the Ultra model at the most commonly used zoom ranges.
The smartphone’s internal architecture will be based on Qualcomm’s flagship Snapdragon 8 Elite Gen 6 Pro for Galaxy platform. Performance will be supported by at least 12 GB of RAM, and a high-speed UFS 5.0 storage drive with a capacity of 256 GB or more will be provided for file storage. Battery life will be provided by a 5000 mAh battery that supports fast charging at 45 W or even higher. In addition, the S27 Pro is expected to feature a hardware-level screen privacy protection function to shield the display from prying eyes – a feature that was previously exclusive to the premium Galaxy S26 Ultra.
