Although Gamescom has just wrapped up – and quite a few games were already announced during the event – gamers won’t have much time to catch their breath, as Sony announced today the date of its next State of Play presentation. And this time, the event will consist of two parts.
The next State of Play broadcast in 2026 will take place on Thursday, September 3, at 4:00 p.m. Kyiv time (6:00 a.m. PT / 9:00 a.m. ET / 3:00 p.m. CEST), and the presentation will be available to watch on the official PlayStation channels on YouTube and Twitch. The duration of the event has not yet been confirmed, but Sony will launch a special edition of State of Play Japan immediately following the English-language broadcast. It will be streamed with English subtitles for viewers around the world.

“First, don’t miss the new State of Play broadcast, which will feature news and announcements from PlayStation Studios and our third-party partners, and to wrap things up, an in-depth look at the vast world of Final Fantasy VII Revelation from our friends at Square Enix,” reads a post on the PlayStation Blog. “Immediately afterward, don’t miss the new episode of State of Play Japan, which will once again be hosted by Yuki Kaji. State of Play Japan will feature detailed previews of upcoming games from studios in Japan and Asia, including new gameplay footage, announcements, and much more.”
Interestingly, just recently, during the Gamescom Opening Night Live stream, Square Enix already unveiled a new trailer for Final Fantasy VII Revelation, which focused on the giant creatures known as Weapons. Aside from mentioning Final Fantasy VII Revelation as the finale of the presentation, Sony has not revealed any details about what else awaits PlayStation fans during this double broadcast. It could be a large-scale presentation featuring new previews of upcoming exclusives or a compilation of trailers dedicated to games from third-party publishers.

According to some reports, new details about *Intergalactic: The Heretic Prophet* may be revealed at the presentation. The game, which is being developed by Naughty Dog, has so far received only one trailer, which was released back in 2024. In addition, Sony may share more about upcoming projects such as Marvel’s Wolverine or God of War: Laufey.
