HBO Max, the global streaming platform owned by Warner Bros. Discovery, has officially announced its direct launch in Ukraine. Starting today, October 14, Ukrainian viewers can subscribe directly to the service and access its extensive content library through the HBO Max app, website, as well as on mobile devices and Smart TVs.
This launch marks a significant milestone for Warner Bros. Discovery in the region. Direct access provides users with the full range of HBO Max features, including offline downloads, personalized profiles, and high-definition streaming. It is worth noting that HBO Max content – though not the entire catalog – has been available in Ukraine since June through a partnership with MEGOGO. This collaboration continues alongside the direct launch, offering viewers additional options for accessing premium entertainment.
The service features a large content library from HBO, Warner Bros. Pictures, DC Studios, Max Originals, and Discovery. The user interface is fully localized in Ukrainian, and most titles include Ukrainian subtitles and dubbing to ensure accessibility for local audiences.
HBO Max offers two main subscription plans:
- Standard (€7.99/month) – Streaming on up to two devices simultaneously, Full HD quality, and up to 30 downloads.
- Premium (€9.99/month) – Streaming on up to four devices (two of which can access live sports), 4K UHD + Dolby Atmos quality where available, and up to 100 downloads (with limitations).
- An additional Sports add-on (approximately €3/month) provides access to the Eurosport 1 and Eurosport 2 channels.
Subscribers can download the HBO Max app from major app stores and stream content on connected TVs, mobile devices, tablets, or online at www.hbomax.com. The service accepts Visa, Mastercard, American Express, and PayPal for payments.
With the direct launch in Ukraine, viewers gain access to thousands of hours of premium entertainment on HBO Max. The platform offers a wide selection of exclusive titles from HBO, Warner Bros. Pictures, Max Originals, and more.
Available titles include major releases such as Minecraft: The Movie and the entire Harry Potter saga, along with popular series like The Last of Us, House of the Dragon, The Penguin, Pitt, and The Sympathizer. Fans can also watch enduring favorites like Friends and the iconic Sex and the City, along with its continuation – the third season of And Just Like That….
Upcoming releases for Ukrainian audiences include The Franchise and Welcome to Derry in October, followed later by I ♥ LA.
The partnership between HBO Max and the Ukrainian streaming service Megogo remains in effect. To access HBO Max through Megogo, users must be registered on the platform and purchase a subscription offered by the service administrator. This subscription provides access to selected HBO Max content available on Megogo. Full details regarding access terms can be found in the service rules, section 6.1.11.
