The American technology company Google has begun rolling out its latest AI agent, Gemini Spark, within its proprietary Gemini app, designed for Mac computers. During the official presentation of this development at the May I/O developer conference, company representatives emphasized that this digital assistant transforms Gemini into a full-fledged, proactive companion capable of independently carrying out various tasks on the user’s behalf.

On Mac devices, this new feature will allow you, for example, to finally organize the huge volume of downloaded PDF documents by automatically sorting them from the Downloads folder into separate destination folders according to your instructions. In addition, the tool will let you perform operations within the Workspace ecosystem while incorporating local files stored directly on your computer’s hard drive – for example, instructing the system to generate a spreadsheet based on invoices stored on your laptop.

In the future, Google developers plan to expand Spark’s functionality, allowing users to remotely run processes on their computer using a mobile phone. For example, if you’re away from home or the office and need a specific document, you’ll be able to use your smartphone to instruct the assistant to find it on your laptop and email it to you.
Of course, the implementation of such tasks depends directly on users’ willingness to entrust their confidential information to Gemini. For those concerned about the security of their personal data and privacy, Google emphasizes that the digital assistant will have access only to those files that you personally grant it explicit permission to access.

If you’re ready to expand the scope of your interaction and share more information with Spark, you can already integrate it with Keep and Google Tasks. What’s more, over the coming weeks, the developers promise to add compatibility with third-party products, including well-known platforms such as Dropbox, Zillow Rental, Canva, OpenTable, and Instacart.
Currently, the macOS version of Gemini Spark is in beta testing. Currently, only adult residents of the United States who are at least 18 years old and pay $100 per month for the Google AI Ultra premium service package can take advantage of its features.
