Google continues to aggressively develop Gemini as a key product in its AI strategy. The company is simultaneously testing several new features that can significantly change the scenarios of using the service and simplify the migration of users from competitive platforms.

The most interesting of the new features is the import of chats from other AI services. Analysts have discovered the Import AI Chats option in Gemini’s attachments menu. It allows downloading the history of dialogs from other chatbots along with media files and conversation context.

The feature is aimed at users who are migrating from platforms such as ChatGPT, Claude, or Microsoft Copilot. According to the test description, the process boils down to downloading an exported chat archive and importing it without manual copying.

The file formats and the list of supported services have not been disclosed yet, but the very appearance of this feature signals Google’s desire to lower the entry barrier for new users and speed up migration to Gemini.

At the same time, Google is testing improved image generation. The service code now includes options for exporting images in 2K and 4K resolution. They are labeled “Best for sharing” and “Best for print”. This means that Gemini can now become a full-fledged tool for creating high-quality visual content suitable not only for social media but also for print.

Another experimental feature is called Likeness. Currently, it is associated with video verification and AI content detection tools. A similar mechanism already works on YouTube, where the system helps to detect videos using the faces or voices of real people without permission.

There is a possibility that Google plans to integrate similar logic directly into Gemini so that users can receive warnings about the use of similar features in the generated video or audio. For now, this is just a test implementation without final functionality.

None of these features have been made publicly available yet.
