HMD Global, previously known for producing mobile devices under the Nokia brand, is preparing to present a completely new line of smartphones under its own brand. The first of this series is to be the HMD Thunder Pro model, detailed specifications and renders of which were declassified by the authoritative insider smashx_60. Previously, this source has already distinguished itself with a series of accurate leaks regarding the manufacturer’s latest products, including the retro clamshell HMD Icon Flip 1.
Judging by the published information, HMD Thunder Pro is aimed at a balanced mid-budget segment, offering users the features of more expensive devices. The smartphone will have a 6.67-inch OLED display with FHD+ resolution and 90 Hz refresh rate, which will provide a vivid picture and smooth scrolling of content.
The performance of the new product will be ensured by the Unisoc T620 single-chip system. The amount of RAM will be 8 GB, and a fast UFS 2.2 flash drive with a capacity of 256 GB is provided for data storage. The main advantage of the device in terms of autonomy will be an energy-efficient screen combined with a monster 6000 mAh battery that will support 20 W of wired charging.
The manufacturer paid special attention to optics. The rear panel features a dual camera setup: a 50-megapixel main module with optical image stabilization (OIS) for clear shots in motion and an 8-megapixel ultra-wide-angle lens. Fans of selfies and video calls will be surprised by the device’s unusually large and powerful 50-megapixel front camera.

The published renders from smashx_60 confirm that HMD Global is finally moving away from Nokia’s legacy, offering a distinctive and modern design. The combination of a long-lasting battery, OLED matrix, and camera with optical stabilization has all the chances to make HMD Thunder Pro a notable player in its class.
