Lenovo seems to be preparing a return to the gaming smartphone market after several years of almost complete silence. Recently, pictures of a device with the Legion brand began to circulate on the Internet, hinting at the possible revival of the line, which has not been continued for a long time.
The last smartphone under the Legion brand was the Legion Y70, introduced in August 2022. At the time of its release, it featured a Qualcomm Snapdragon 8+ Gen 1 processor, a 6.67-inch OLED display with a 144Hz refresh rate, and a cooling system designed to maintain stable performance during long gaming sessions. The device had quite powerful characteristics, but after that, the series was not actually further developed. Subsequently, Lenovo gradually moved away from the gaming smartphone segment, at least at the public level.

That’s why a recent observation attracted attention. At one of Lenovo’s events in China, a company representative was photographed holding a Legion smartphone that had not yet been officially unveiled. Later, these photos appeared on Weibo. Although the pictures do not show all the details of the device, they give a fairly clear idea of the design of its back panel.
On the back, you can see a rectangular camera unit located in the upper left corner of the case. This module houses a system of three cameras and an LED flash. The Lenovo Legion logo is clearly visible below the camera unit.

Interestingly, the appearance of the device seems to be more restrained compared to previous Legion models. Previously, smartphones of this series were characterized by a pronounced gaming style. The new device looks more traditional, which may indicate Lenovo’s intention to create a device that combines high gaming performance with the comfort of everyday use. If Lenovo really plans to compete in today’s gaming smartphone market, the new device will probably target the same performance segment as models like the RedMagic 11 Pro or iQOO 15.
This will most likely mean the use of a flagship processor combined with an AMOLED display with a high refresh rate, probably 144 Hz or even higher. We can also expect a large battery with fast charging support, and some form of advanced cooling system, such as a large evaporation chamber or even active cooling with a fan.

So far, Lenovo has not officially confirmed the existence of this device. However, the very fact that it appeared at a corporate event may indicate that the development is already at a fairly advanced stage. If this is true, the official presentation may take place in the coming months.
