The Ukrainian army is deploying a special initiative called “Logistics Lockdown,” which aims to expand the scale of medium-range strikes and systematically eliminate the potential of Russian troops in the operational rear. According to Defense Minister Mykhailo Fedorov, the key goal is to intensify the firepower on the invaders behind the front line and deprive them of their ability to conduct intensive offensive operations.

The official emphasized that the defense forces are taking the initiative on the battlefield step by step, which is why territorial gains are becoming more and more expensive for the enemy.

According to Fedorov, while in October the occupation forces lost 67 personnel per square kilometer of the occupied territory, in April this figure rose to 179 soldiers. The Russian side is suffering unprecedented losses, exceeding 35,000 dead and seriously wounded every month, while the pace of counteraction from the Ukrainian side is only increasing.

Over the past months, Ukrainian soldiers have managed to quadruple the destruction of enemy supplies, combat vehicles, command posts and transportation arteries in operational depth. Practice proves that a larger-scale destruction of enemy supply lines leads to a significant reduction in the number of their assault operations.

The minister is convinced that strategic steps aimed at building up mid-strike tools were a fundamental factor in such transformations. Together with the blocking of access to Starlink for Russian units, this has provided Ukraine with an additional advantage in the technological confrontation on the front line.

To finance these needs, the Ministry of Defense, together with the General Staff, has allocated an additional $5 billion to purchase the latest medium-range weapons. These allocations are distributed among the most effective brigades and units that focus on eliminating the occupiers’ forces in the rear areas according to the internal evaluation system. Some military formations have already received financial resources and procurement processes have started, while tenders for large-scale supplies of firearms are being announced in parallel.
