Motorola has officially set June 4, 2026 as the date of the presentation of its new Motorola Edge 70 Pro+ smartphone, which will receive the long-awaited long-focus module, which is absent in the basic version of the Edge 70 Pro. The key feature of the new product will be a 50-megapixel periscopic camera with three and a half times optical zoom, which the brand positions as the thinnest design solution among its peers in the segment.
Just at the beginning of this month, Motorola launched the base model Edge 70 Pro. However, the manufacturer is now actively preparing for the release of its improved modification. Thanks to the publication of the Indian division of Motorola in the social network X, the general public has learned the exact release date of Motorola Edge 70 Pro+ – the event is scheduled for June 4, 2026.
The aforementioned announcement clearly indicates the debut of Motorola Edge 70 Pro+ – next Thursday, June 4, 2026. The company is keeping the financial cost of the device under wraps for now, although experts predict a price tag of about $600. Given that the brand has been stirring up interest in this model with various teasers for a long time, the appearance of a specific date is a positive signal to the audience.
As for the technical expectations, Motorola Edge 70 Pro+ will almost completely copy the standard Edge 70 Pro variant. For fans of the current design, this is unlikely to be a disappointment. However, the main object of discussion, of course, is the camera system.
In the case of the Motorola Edge 70 Pro+, the manufacturer has officially confirmed the integration of a 50-megapixel periscope camera module with 3.5x optical zoom and optical image stabilization. Marketers emphasize that this is the thinnest periscope design among all competitors in this class. In addition, it is claimed to support a combined 50x digital zoom powered by AI. The role of the main lens will be played by a 50-megapixel Sony LYTIA 710 sensor, and a front camera with a similar resolution of 50 megapixels is provided for creating self-portraits.
The screen parameters include an AMOLED matrix with four curved edges, a diagonal of 6.7 to 6.8 inches, a resolution of 1.5K and a refresh rate of 144 Hz. The overall performance will be provided by the Dimensity 8500 Extreme processor, borrowed unchanged from the classic Edge 70 Pro version. The power capabilities of the device are complemented by support for proprietary Turbo Power fast charging both wired and wirelessly.
The color palette of Motorola Edge 70 Pro+ will be represented by three variants created in collaboration with Pantone. Consumers will be offered a deep burgundy Zinfandel shade with a pleasant matte-satin surface, a blue Blue Surf version that imitates the texture of wicker, and a Wood Gold version that reproduces the pattern of natural wood fibers.
