Motorola has announced the expansion of testing of its new Android 17 operating system, giving owners of Razr models the opportunity to join the beta program and be the first to evaluate future features and updates. The list of compatible devices, which already included more than a dozen items, has just been expanded to include users of the Razr 70 Ultra and Razr Fold foldable smartphones.
Interestingly, this is the second time Motorola has announced the start of Android 17 testing for the Razr 70 Ultra. The previous attempt took place at the beginning of last month, but then the official announcement on the community forum was hastily deleted, as this mobile device had not even been officially presented at that time. At the same time, the original folding smartphone Razr Fold, which debuted on the market earlier this year, joined the test program.

To receive a test build on their Motorola smartphone, users need to register with the official testing program known as MFN. Detailed step-by-step instructions on the registration process can be found here. Those wishing to test the software should keep in mind that beta versions usually contain bugs and unfinished features that may lead to malfunctions or system instability. Because of this, it is highly recommended that you back up all important information before upgrading to completely eliminate the possibility of losing it.

Android 17is expected to be one of the largest system updates in recent years. Among the key innovations is the deeper integration of the Gemini AI smart assistant with an expanded range of features that will allow you to interact with your device as efficiently as possible. In addition, the new operating system will offer support for bubble display for absolutely all applications, updated privacy indicators, security mechanisms for one-time passwords (OTP ), and a rethought system contact selection tool that will allow access to certain numbers for a limited period of time only. A full list of these and other planned improvements can be found on a dedicated page.

However, it should be borne in mind that Motorola usually does not implement all the standard innovations of the latest operating system in its proprietary service packs for its gadgets. Which of the announced features will eventually appear on the company’s devices remains an open question. The exact information will be available only after the developers release the first public beta versions of Android 17 for the mentioned models.
