The upcoming Redmi Note 17 smartphone lineup is gearing up for release, and the first official details have already appeared in the database of the Chinese 3C regulatory agency. A device with the model number 2607DRA18C has been certified; it will come bundled with a 67-watt MDY-15-EQ power adapter. Judging by the labeling and the faster charging speed, this is likely the Pro version, as the base Redmi Note 17 will traditionally have more modest specs and a lower price tag. This upgrade looks particularly impressive compared to last year’s Redmi Note 15 Pro, which had a 45-watt charger.

This decision by the manufacturer is purely a practical necessity, as insiders predict this smartphone will feature a massive 9,000 mAh battery. The previous 45-watt charging would take more than two hours to recharge such a capacity, “tethering” the user to a power outlet. The switch to 67 W will significantly reduce this time and make daily use of the device more convenient for those who can’t afford to wait for hours near a power source.

In addition, the new model is expected to feature a flat OLED display with 1.5K resolution, a Snapdragon 6 Gen 5 processor, and a 50 MP main camera.

The “2607” index in the model name refers to Xiaomi’s traditional internal coding system, which encodes the year and month of the planned release – specifically, July 2026. This fully aligns with rumors of a July debut for the first model in the new series. As with the previous generation – the Redmi Note 15, since the manufacturer appears to have skipped the 16 series – the lineup in China will most likely consist of three models: the base model, the Pro, and the Pro+. Therefore, following the July announcement, we can expect the top-of-the-line model to debut in August.

However, it’s worth noting that so far, 3C certification has officially confirmed only the power adapter specifications. The rest of the specifications – such as screen size, memory configurations, final price, and exact commercial name – remain mere rumors. More official details and the first teasers are expected to be released in early July, immediately following the launch of the flagship Redmi K90 Ultra smartphone, which is scheduled for June 30.
