For Samsung, the strategic goal of developing Galaxy AI is to minimize barriers to user interaction with mobile devices and create experiences that feel natural and intuitive. Technically, all players in the AI market are striving for this, but Samsung seems to have an advantage over competitors in the mobile segment due to its early partnership with Google.
Nevertheless, the company does not slow down, and Galaxy AI continues to scale. A few days before Galaxy Unpacked 2026, Samsung announced that its platform would receive support for multi-agent interaction and integration with Perplexity in the next generation of flagship devices, i.e. the Galaxy S26 series.
Citing recent analytical data, the company notes that users are increasingly engaging several AI agents to perform various tasks. According to Samsung’s internal estimates, almost 80% of people use more than two AI tools in their daily work scenarios.
Given this trend, Samsung is expanding Galaxy AI capabilities to support a wider range of integrated AI agents. One of the new entrants to the ecosystem will be Perplexity, which will be available with the Galaxy S26 series and One UI 8.5.
Perplexity is an AI search engine with a dialog interaction function developed by the American company Perplexity AI. Samsung will not limit itself to integrating the service within a single function but plans to deeply integrate Perplexity into its own AI ecosystem. In particular, Perplexity will become a part of Bixby for web search. Besides, according to Samsung, the service will be integrated into a number of proprietary applications, including Notes, Clock, Gallery, Calendar, and Reminder.
The company also said that the new AI agent will appear in selected third-party applications, although the specific partners have not been disclosed yet. Users of Galaxy devices will be able to activate Perplexity using a separate voice command “Hey Plex” or by assigning the service launch to the side button.
Since Galaxy AI works at the system level and is able to take into account context and natural interaction scenarios, Samsung describes the platform as a coordinator that combines different AI systems into a single, consistent, and holistic experience.
It remains to be seen how seamless this integration will be in practice. The official presentation of Galaxy S26 series will take place at Galaxy Unpacked 2026 in San Francisco. The event is scheduled for February 25, and everyone will be able to watch the broadcast online.
