YouTube now allows you to completely hide Shorts. Users now have the option to remove Shorts from the mobile app. YouTube users now have an official option to remove short videos from their feed if they don’t want to watch them. The platform has introduced a feature to set the viewing limit for Shorts at zero minutes, which should help users fight endless scrolling, at least in the mobile version. YouTube first introduced a limit for Shorts in October last year, but back then, the minimum threshold was 15 minutes. After this time, a notification would appear on the screen advising you to take a break.

At the beginning of this year, this tool was integrated with parental controls, allowing guardians to limit the viewing time for children. Then YouTube announced that it would soon be possible to set the timer to zero. Now, the zero limit is available not only for parental accounts but also for all categories of users. The zero minutes option has also been confirmed for adult accounts. When you activate this setting, you may receive a warning that scrolling is paused, although some Shorts may still appear. You may also need to update the app to completely remove Shorts from your feed.

To use the Shorts blocking feature, go to the Settings section of the YouTube mobile app. There, you should find the Time Management option and scroll to the Daily Limits section, where the Shorts feed limit tab is located. For those who don’t want to give up content entirely, other time slots are available, with a maximum limit of two hours.
