Samsung has officially clarified its position on Galaxy AI, confirming that basic AI functions will remain free for users without any time limits. The corresponding clarification appeared in the updated text on the Galaxy AI support pages, where previously the wording left room for ambiguous interpretation.

When Galaxy AI debuted with the Galaxy S24 line, Samsung announced that these features would be available for free for a limited period only. The first version of the terms and conditions stated that Galaxy AI features would remain free “until 2025”, and after that, the company did not rule out the possibility of introducing a paid model.

It was this wording that caused concern among users, who feared that key AI tools might eventually be available for a subscription. It is important that such a warning continued to appear on Samsung’s official website even in early 2026.

However, the company has recently changed the text of the warning without much publicity. The updated version clearly states that the basic Galaxy AI functions developed and provided by Samsung are free of charge. This means that users will be able to continue using these features at no additional cost in 2026 and beyond.

At the same time, Samsung clarifies that it may introduce new or expanded AI features in the future. Such additional features could potentially become paid. At the same time, the company emphasizes that the existing basic Galaxy AI tools will remain free regardless of the emergence of new services.

By “basic Galaxy AI features,” Samsung means most of the tools that users are already actively using. This list includes Call Assist, Writing Assist, Photo Assist, Interpreter, Note Assist, and a number of other features integrated into modern Galaxy smartphones.

Samsung emphasizes that this commitment does not apply to AI features created by third-party developers. For example, tools such as Google’s Circle to Search are governed by their own terms and conditions and may have a different access model in the future, including a paid one.

Thus, Samsung has effectively abandoned the idea of monetizing the basic functions of Galaxy AI. Although the company may eventually offer paid AI add-ons or advanced features, users can be sure that the key Galaxy AI tools already built into their devices will remain free for a long time.
