Rugged smartphones are obviously durable and reliable, but can they also be fast enough? For professionals working in construction, logistics, manufacturing, or in extreme or field conditions, a rugged smartphone must be more than just durable. It must provide sufficient performance for smooth app operation, efficient multitasking, and stable connectivity throughout the workday. Traditional rugged smartphones often fall short in terms of speed, while flagship models lack the durability needed for use in harsh conditions – but now the OSCAL PILOT 8 is entering the arena, combining both qualities.

The PILOT 8 is the world’s first rugged smartphone based on the Qualcomm QCM6690, which has a clock speed of up to 2.9 GHz. According to the manufacturer, it delivers up to 15% higher CPU performance and up to 30% higher graphics performance compared to rugged smartphones based on the MediaTek Helio G100 platform. The processor delivers flagship-level performance, as well as enhanced stability, improved connectivity, and computing power for professional users.

Connectivity is just as important for the modern workflow. The OSCAL PILOT 8 supports Wi-Fi 7 and 5G, delivering faster download speeds, lower latency, and a more stable connection. Whether you’re syncing project data, sending inspection reports, participating in remote meetings, or managing cloud-based workflows, this smartphone lets you do it all and stay productive no matter where you’re working.

As a true rugged flagship, the PILOT 8 is designed for use in harsh, contaminated environments. It meets the requirements of the MIL-STD-810H military standard and is dust- and water-resistant to IP68 and IP69K standards. Additionally, the smartphone operates reliably at temperatures ranging from -20°C to 60°C.

Other features of the model include a versatile camera setup, which comprises a 108 MP Samsung main sensor and a 20 MP night vision camera, as well as a 50 MP Samsung front-facing camera. The 4.5-watt Smart-PA speaker delivers sound levels of up to 98 dB, ensuring that calls and voice navigation prompts can be heard even in noisy environments. Battery life is handled by a 10,000 mAh battery, which provides up to 28 days of standby time.

For many years, buying a rugged smartphone meant making certain compromises in terms of performance, but the OSCAL PILOT 8 changes that approach. Powered by the Qualcomm QCM6690 platform, it combines flagship-level performance with enhanced durability and endurance.
