A new themed Programming Fest has begun on Steam, dedicated – as you might guess – to games centered around logic puzzles, programming and hacking challenges, automation, and simulations of an IT specialist’s work. These games will be available at great discounts during the festival. The event, by the way, won’t last very long – it ends on September 14 at 10 AM PT.

“Show off your technical skills and code, hack, or destroy everything in your path in a variety of games featuring programming elements that are currently on sale,” reads a post on the Steam news page. – Who do your relatives always call for help when they have technical questions? You? ‘NOT RIGHT NOW, GRANDMA, I’M BUSY!’ – you say, while putting your skills to the test (that is, in fun games).”

This isn’t a story about work you have to finish by 2 a.m. Most of these games don’t require knowledge of a programming language. They’ll first teach you a small, fictional set of instructions as quickly as possible, and then give you increasingly complex tasks based on it. In some games, you’ll play the role of a hacker, while in others – on the contrary – you’ll have to catch hackers.
