Design and ergonomics
The fitness band arrived in a well-made white box, with standard contents inside: user manual, safety information, warranty card, the band itself, and a charging cable. The review unit I received came in white with a metal case. For reference, the Band 10 is available in several color options – white, green, blue, and purple feature an aluminum alloy case, while the black and pink versions use a durable polymer material.
The Huawei Band 10 features a refreshed design that focuses on premium materials and wearing comfort. After nearly two weeks of continuous use, it’s clear that durability and a refined look were key priorities in its construction – the device remains free of scratches. The band is just 8.99 mm thick and weighs 15 grams, making it barely noticeable on the wrist, even during sleep. The fluoroelastomer strap adds to the overall comfort, making it well-suited for extended wear. The clasp is secure and hasn’t come undone unintentionally at any point.
The device is equipped with a 1.47-inch AMOLED display with a resolution of 194×368 pixels. The screen is bright, delivers vibrant colors, and remains clearly legible even under direct sunlight – as shown in the photos below. It also supports an Always-On Display feature, which keeps the time and other information visible at all times. However, enabling this option reduces battery life to around three days, which is a noticeable trade-off.

Personalisation and appearance
For many users today, a fitness band isn’t just about functionality – it also needs to work as a stylish accessory that fits seamlessly into different outfits, moods, or even seasons. The Huawei Band 10 manages to strike that balance. If you prefer a minimalist look, for example, you can simply choose a clean, analog-style watch face.
If you’re in the mood for something more playful, you can switch to an animated, neon-themed watch face. For a more personal touch, it’s also possible to create a custom face using your own photos or images. In total, there are over 700 watch face options available, and the collection continues to grow with regular updates.
When it comes to the band colors, there’s a good variety to choose from. Huawei has released the Band 10 in several vibrant and subtle shades: classic black, elegant white, mint green, deep blue, stylish purple, and soft pink. This range allows you to pick a model that complements your personal style, mood, or simply adds a pop of color to your wrist.
By the way, the straps are interchangeable, allowing you to build a whole collection to match different looks. The band has a modern design that pairs easily with both athletic outfits and everyday or even office attire. Huawei has clearly made an effort to ensure that the Band 10 isn’t just a practical gadget but also a distinctive element of personal style.

Health monitoring functions
The Huawei Band 10 offers a wide range of health-tracking features. Let’s dive into them.
First up is continuous heart rate monitoring. Thanks to the latest-generation optical sensor, the band tracks your heart rate throughout the day and night. The system automatically alerts you if it detects unusually high or low readings, allowing you to address potential issues in time. The data is stored in the history, making it easy to track trends via a convenient graph. While this feature can drain the battery significantly, it’s still practical for occasional use – for example, weekly monitoring every few months.
Next, let’s talk about blood oxygen level measurement. This feature is particularly useful during workouts, at high altitudes, or when experiencing fatigue. The Band 10 can automatically track SpO₂ levels throughout the day, and it also allows for manual spot measurements, providing a clearer picture of your breathing efficiency and oxygenation levels. While I don’t have a pulse oximeter for direct comparison, the band was able to detect changes in my blood oxygen levels under various conditions, which can be useful for personal tracking and observation.
The band also tracks heart rate variability (HRV), which I find to be a particularly interesting feature. HRV indicates the balance between the sympathetic and parasympathetic nervous systems. The Huawei Band 10 uses this data to assess stress levels, helping users better manage rest, workouts, and avoid overexertion. All of this information is displayed in the app (which we’ll get to shortly) as a stress index, along with relaxation tips.
Additionally, the Band 10 features intelligent sleep monitoring, a function that automatically detects your sleep onset, sleep phases (light, deep, and REM), and the duration of each. Beyond the quantitative data, the system provides AI-powered quality recommendations, such as tips to improve sleep hygiene, how many hours you specifically need, and how your sleep pattern changes over the course of a week or month. It does a good job of identifying when you fall asleep, how often you wake up during the night, and other related details.
By combining data from sensors (such as heart rate and HRV) with AI algorithms, the Band 10 analyzes your mood and emotional stress levels. When stress is detected, the band may suggest breathing exercises or a short break. The app includes a dedicated section with meditative music and relaxation tips. This means you get a tool not just for tracking physical activity but also for maintaining emotional and mental balance in daily life.
Finally, the Band 10 can detect irregularities in heart rhythm, such as atrial fibrillation. If the device detects an irregular rhythm or frequent fluctuations in heart rate, it can issue a warning, encouraging the user to seek medical advice in a timely manner. It’s important to note that this feature does not replace medical diagnosis (like all the other features, to be fair), but it can serve as an important signal of potential heart issues.
All the collected data syncs with the Huawei Health app, which allows users to view their history, analyze changes in well-being, and receive personalized recommendations for sleep, activity, rest, and nutrition.

Sports capabilities of Huawei Band 10
When you purchase the Band 10, you’re not just getting a fitness tracker, but a personal trainer right on your wrist. With support for over 100 different types of physical activity, it’s suitable for both beginners and experienced athletes. It’s a pity, though, that I don’t fit into either category.
Among the most popular modes are running (outdoor and treadmill), pool swimming, cycling, yoga and stretching, strength training, rock climbing, and hiking. Each mode is optimized for the specific sport: the bracelet tracks the type of load, heart rate, calories burned, and also provides post-workout reports with helpful tips.
Swimming is a whole different story. The Huawei Band 10 boasts a 5 ATM water resistance rating, and its nine-axis motion sensor, combined with AI-based algorithms, enables it to accurately detect swimming styles (freestyle, breaststroke, butterfly, etc.), stroke count and frequency, pace, lap length, and overall workout efficiency. The manufacturer claims that the measurement accuracy in this mode reaches up to 95%, and I was able to personally verify this in the pool. Yes, this band is not only ideal for amateurs but also for serious swimmers looking to track their technique.
Additionally, the band offers real-time functions, such as reminders to move (if you’ve been stationary for too long, the band gently “wakes” you up with a short vibration), calorie counting, and tracking progress toward fitness goals. The Band 10 allows you to set personal targets, such as walking 10,000 steps, burning 500 kcal, or working out for 30 minutes, and then track their completion over time.
I should also mention the automatic activity detection feature. This works really well, as the band automatically recognizes when you start running (mine first triggered when I was running after a bus, which was pretty funny) or walking, and it will prompt you to start the corresponding workout mode.

Battery life and charging
I noticed the impressive battery life of Huawei devices back when reviewing the Band 9, and its successor, the Band 10, continues this tradition beautifully. The Band 10 features a 180 mAh battery, providing up to 14 days of use in standard mode and up to 9 days with intensive usage – constant heart rate monitoring, sleep tracking, and frequent workouts, among other things. So, when I went on a business trip to another country, I purposely left the charger at home and didn’t worry at all.
The only thing that initially bothered me was the fast battery drain “straight out of the box,” but our editor-in-chief, Eugene Beerhoff, wisely suggested I install all the updates and restart the device, which completely fixed the issue. Perhaps this tip will come in handy for you too!
The charging process is incredibly simple – just connect the bracelet to the included magnetic cable, and it will immediately start charging. The contacts magnetize automatically, so it’s hard to miss.

Smart features and compatibility
Huawei Band 10 doesn’t just limit itself to tracking physical activity. It also acts as your personal assistant, instantly notifying you about incoming calls, new messages, or important calendar events.
It supports all popular apps, like Telegram, Instagram, Facebook, and many others. Another handy feature is music control. You can easily manage your music directly from the bracelet, which is especially convenient during workouts.
Huawei Band 10 also features a phone finder function. If you’ve misplaced your smartphone, simply press a button on the bracelet, and it will emit a sound so you can quickly locate it within your space. Interestingly, even in silent mode, the iPhone still produces a fairly loud noise for the “find device” feature – definitely a plus. Additionally, the bracelet is equipped with breathing exercises, which can help you calm down and reduce stress (if you’ve already found your phone).

Huawei Health app
The Huawei Band 10 works in close synergy with the Huawei Health, app, which serves as the core of the entire Huawei device ecosystem. This app not only stores and analyzes all the data collected by the bracelet but also provides personalized recommendations to help improve your overall health and fitness. Its interface is simple and intuitive, so even beginners will quickly grasp its features. The Huawei Band 10 works flawlessly with all smartphones running Android 9.0 or later and iOS 11.0 or later.
On Android, you can download the app by scanning the QR code:
iOS:
One of the main advantages of Huawei Health is the detailed statistics it provides to users. You can view your physical activity over a day, week, month, or even year, allowing you to assess your progress toward fitness goals. For example, you can track your step count, calories burned, distance covered, and the duration and quality of your sleep.
Thanks to integration with other Huawei fitness devices, the app also supports more advanced features, such as workout analysis, real-time heart rate monitoring, and blood oxygen saturation (SpO₂) measurement. This allows you to obtain highly accurate data and better understand how your body responds to different types of physical activity.

It truly helps you keep track of your health and physical activity by providing accurate insights into your body’s condition.
