Our correspondent attended the annual IFA 2026 consumer electronics trade show. There will be plenty of coverage from the event, so stay tuned. This particular piece focuses on Motorola, its innovations, and its latest products. I’ll also briefly mention some of Lenovo’s new releases. There are a few interesting ones worth highlighting, but I’ll keep that part very short.

Artificial Intelligence
Let’s start with the main innovation: Motorola Qira. It’s spelled with a Q and pronounced “Kira.” This is NOT a new product; it was introduced on Motorola and Lenovo devices earlier in 2026. For those who may have forgotten, Qira is a cross-platform AI assistant with contextual understanding and memory.
The innovation lies in how broadly Qira is being rolled out at this point. Because, honestly, simply announcing an AI assistant is no longer surprising. They launch them, and just as quickly, they can disappear. But first, Qira is still active and continues to evolve. And second, it is now running on devices with as little as 16 GB of RAM. This applies to PCs and laptops.
On smartphones, Qira’s rollout will depend on the devices receiving Android 17. That is expected to happen very soon, with the new version of the software coming to the Edge, Signature, and Razr lines. What’s more, Qira will also be available on smartwatches. And that is already one of the new developments.
Smartwatch
Next up is the moto watch ultra, the company’s first premium smartwatch. It features a 1.5-inch pOLED display with curved edges and a peak brightness of up to 2,700 nits.
The refresh rate ranges from 1 to 60 Hz. Yes, the minimum is 1 Hz. At that level, you hardly even need an AOD – although it is included here.
The processor is the Snap WS+ Gen1. There’s a microphone and a speaker, while the watch weighs 51 g. Connectivity includes NFC, LTE, Bluetooth 5.3 LE, Wi-Fi 4, and GPS. There are also heart-rate and blood-oxygen sensors, along with a host of other sensors. The watch will also offer deeper integration with Gmail, Google Calendar, Google Contacts, Slack, Outlook Mail, and Outlook Calendar.
This same integration is a new feature for the manufacturer, but it will be available wherever Qira is supported, as it will arrive as part of a software update. The watch is also rated IP68 and can withstand pressure equivalent to 5 atmospheres. There’s no MIL-STD-810H certification, but it still looks well equipped without it.
But there’s something else that matters more to me. The watch runs Wear OS 6. That means seamless – or at least near-seamless – integration into the Google ecosystem, including synchronization of alarms. The battery life, however, is about what you would expect: the 550 mAh battery should provide up to two days of active use with AOD turned off.
Smartphones
Among Motorola’s new products, I’d also highlight the Motorola Razr 70 with its Swarovski crystal-inspired design. It’s a welcome update, considering that design has always been one of the Razr’s main selling points.
Motorola also showcased the Motorola Edge 70 Plus, featuring a 200 MP camera with optical image stabilization, a 6.8-inch 144 Hz Extreme AMOLED display with peak brightness of up to 5,200 nits, as well as MIL-STD-810H and IP64 protection.

Overall, Motorola has been making solid progress across the board lately. The Signature has finally turned out to be a proper, full-fledged flagship with no major compromises, while the RAZR Fold is one of the few foldables I would actually consider buying. And now the company is adding smartwatches to the lineup as well.
Lenovo
As for Lenovo, there are two laptops featuring RTX Spark: the Yoga Pro 9n with a 15-inch PureSight Pro OLED display and a 165 Hz refresh rate, and the Yoga 9n 2-in-1 convertible with a touchscreen, a 16-inch OLED display, and stylus support. There will also be the ThinkCentre X Ultra mini PC, powered by an AMD Ryzen AI Max+ Pro processor and configurable with up to 128 GB of RAM.
Lenovo also showcased the 14-inch Project Swan concept – a laptop whose display expands to 17 inches, while weighing just 1.7 kg. There was even a potential MacBook Neo competitor, the IdeaPad Vibe.
