The Steam catalog has once again been updated with a fresh batch of free games, though this time there are fewer titles with exceptionally high ratings than during the previous giveaway. However, among the new releases, there are some that truly deserve gamers’ attention thanks to their solid user reviews, with Crawler, Fall Queen, and Lost Light standing out the most.

The latest batch of free games appeared on Steam in late August 2026, and as September began, users noticed the new selection. Although the current lineup doesn’t boast as many top-tier free releases as the previous one, it still includes some titles worth checking out.

Most of these free games debuted on Steam in late August, and within a few days, some of them had already earned positive reviews from the gaming community. The game launched on August 29 and has an 85% positive rating.

On the same day, August 29, Lost Light was released – a casual platformer with full controller support (for example, the GameSir Nova Lite 2 is currently priced at $25.99 on Amazon). Currently, the game has a 100% approval rating based on 21 reviews. The psychological horror game Solipsistic offers players unique gameplay with the ability to interact directly with game files to solve puzzles. This story-driven free-to-play title was released on August 28 and currently holds a 100% positive rating.
