The development team has unveiled a new project for American Truck Simulator called Road Trip, which is currently in the early stages of development. Previously, the developers have already hinted at a new direction in a teaser called Hear us out, and now they have officially revealed what it is about. As part of this initiative, the team aims to expand the ways in which players interact with the game world beyond just driving Class 8 trucks and transporting goods, and offer new formats for exploring familiar locations.
The concept of Road Trip means that players will be able to enjoy the large-scale landscapes of American Truck Simulator not only from the cab of a heavy-duty tractor, but also behind the wheel of other vehicles, such as a powerful pickup truck or even a sports car. It is expected that this approach will be of interest to both long-time fans of the game and new users who are just discovering this virtual world.
At the moment, the developers are not ready to disclose all the details, as some of the ideas are still in the process of formation. At the same time, they note that the direction of development looks promising, and the project itself opens up many new opportunities that make the team enthusiastic.
The idea of Road Trip is not limited to the addition of new types of transport.
