Ukrainian company Ajax Systems introduced a new addition to its product lineup at the Special Event: Multiverse – its first outdoor keypad, the KeyPad Outdoor Jeweller. The device is intended for controlling security and automation systems outside buildings and offers enhanced protection against moisture, dust, and physical impact.

The keypad features a sealed stainless steel body with a protective cover. It can operate in temperatures from −25 °C to +60 °C, is impact-resistant (IK08 rating), and holds an IP66 certification. These specifications make it suitable not only for residential use but also for locations at higher risk of vandalism, such as construction sites, warehouses, logistics centers, and industrial facilities.

KeyPad Outdoor Jeweller supports multiple authentication methods, including contactless Pass cards and Tag key fobs, smartphone access via Bluetooth Low Energy, and personal or temporary codes. The latter option is particularly useful for guests, service technicians, or emergency personnel. All access rights can be managed remotely through the Ajax app.

The keypad is equipped with large mechanical buttons with backlighting, making them easy to press even while wearing gloves. The symbols are durable and resistant to wear, preventing code guessing from visible marks. In addition, the device provides visual and audible feedback for each action, with adjustable backlight intensity and buzzer volume.

The keypad allows control over security modes – full property, zoned areas, or night mode – and can trigger automation scenarios, such as opening gates or switching on outdoor lighting. It also features a programmable “Function” button that can be configured to activate an alarm or silence a fire siren.

For enhanced security, the keypad supports a delayed activation mode and the Zwangsläufigkeit principle (as required by VdS), which helps reduce the risk of false alarms and user errors.

The device is powered by two long-life CR123A batteries and can also be connected to an external 12 V⎓ power source. It uses the Jeweller wireless protocol, offering a range of up to 1,700 m in open spaces.

Installation takes only a few minutes thanks to the SmartBracket system, which includes a built-in level and a soft spacer for a secure fit. Adding the keypad to the system is done via a QR code, and settings can be configured remotely.

It’s worth noting that Ajax also introduced a wired version – the Superior KeyPad Outdoor Fibra – which meets EN 50131 (Grade 3) standards. In contrast, the wireless KeyPad Outdoor Jeweller is certified to Grade 2 and is aimed at a broad range of professional and residential applications.
