Blackview has introduced the rugged XPLORE 2 smartphone, designed for frequent travelers, professionals working in challenging environments, and enthusiasts of extreme sports. The new device, set to launch globally, combines long-lasting battery life, solid performance, and exceptional durability.
The XPLORE 2 comes with a next-generation waterproof USB port that maintains full sealing without the need for rubber flaps. It is certified to IP68/IP69K standards, allowing it to withstand submersion in water up to 2 meters deep for 30 minutes, extreme temperatures, and water jets at pressures of up to 10,000 kPa. This means the smartphone can be safely used in the rain or even for underwater photography.
The device also meets the MIL-STD-810H military standard, making it capable of withstanding drops from heights of up to 6 meters, impacts on rocky surfaces, and even pressure of up to 500 kg. Its body is crafted from an aluminum-titanium alloy and reinforced with Corning Gorilla Glass 5, which increases impact resistance by 400%. The XPLORE 2 operates reliably in temperatures ranging from -20°C to +60°C. Additionally, it features dual camping flashlights with a brightness of 467 lumens – useful for rescue missions, equipment inspections, or even encounters with wildlife. An infrared remote control function is also included, allowing users to operate household appliances such as TVs and air conditioners.
The XPLORE 2 comes with a 6.73-inch AMOLED display boasting a 3.2K resolution and HDR support, delivering a peak brightness of 2600 nits. It reproduces 68.7 billion colors with a pixel density of 521 PPI. The refresh rate dynamically adjusts from 1 Hz for static images to a smooth 120 Hz for video, helping conserve battery life. The screen also supports Always-On Display and is TÜV SÜD certified, ensuring reduced eye strain during prolonged use.
The XPLORE 2 is equipped with a 50 MP Samsung ISOCELL GN9 main camera featuring a 1/1.57″ sensor. Ultra HDR algorithms enhance detail clarity by up to 300%, while OIS and EIS stabilization combined with AI-based motion tracking ensure smooth, steady shots. The device records 4K HDR10+ video at 60 fps. On the front, a 50 MP Samsung JN1 camera delivers sharp selfies even at night, while a 20 MP Sony night vision sensor enables photography in complete darkness – ideal for wildlife observation or rescue operations.
Powering the XPLORE 2 is the MediaTek Dimensity 8300 5G chipset, built on a 4 nm process. It scores 1.33 million points in AnTuTu, making it 84% faster than previous generations. The smartphone comes with 16 GB of RAM, expandable virtually by up to 32 GB, allowing smooth multitasking with up to 22 demanding apps running simultaneously. Storage is equally impressive at 1 TB, with support for microSD cards up to 2 TB for massive data capacity. Connectivity is enhanced with Wi-Fi 6E, ensuring fast and stable performance.
With its massive 20,000 mAh battery, the XPLORE 2 can deliver up to 36 hours of heavy use or last up to 75 days on standby. The 120 W fast charging system restores 50% of the battery in just 39 minutes, while 10 W reverse charging lets you power other devices on the go. Blackview also includes intelligent power management and battery protection algorithms to maximize longevity and efficiency.
For situations where the touchscreen may be unresponsive due to harsh conditions, Blackview has integrated the Doke AI assistant with voice command support. This enables hands-free control for tasks like launching navigation, making calls, or managing functions. On top of that, the XPLORE 2 comes with four unique AI-powered apps: Hi Doki for smart replies, ImageX for photo editing, VidGen for video creation, and Soundle for music generation.
The smartphone runs on DokeOS 4.2, offering a balance of performance, customization, and security features. Focus Mode helps minimize distractions, while Cold Room suspends unused apps to save system resources. EasyShare allows file transfers without an internet connection. Upgraded Notebook 2.0 provides additional privacy protection. The manufacturer commits to three years of Android updates.
Additional features include eSIM support and GPS navigation with accuracy up to 1 meter, even in challenging conditions. The manufacturer offers 24/7 customer support. The Blackview XPLORE 2 is now available for purchase, with an introductory price of $499.99 until October 10; the standard price is $679.99.
