According to Bloomberg analyst and journalist Mark Gurman, Apple is planning to unveil a significantly updated version of its voice assistant Siri next month, which will support Google Gemini technologies.

In the new issue of the Power On newsletter, Mark Gurman said that the company plans to announce the new Siri in the second half of February and demonstrate its capabilities in practice. At the same time, it is not yet known whether Apple will hold a full-fledged public presentation or limit itself to closed briefings for media representatives.

Siri

According to the journalist, personalized Siri will be part of the iOS 26.4 update. The beta version of this operating system is expected in February, while the final release for all users is scheduled for March or early April. If these dates are confirmed, the updated assistant will be available to owners of iPhone 15 Pro and newer models in a few months.

According to Mark Gurman, Siri will be able to analyze data directly from the interface and act on it. This means a much deeper integration of the assistant with system applications and the context of device use.

The first announcement of personalized Siri took place at WWDC 2024, but the launch of the feature was postponed. During that presentation, Apple demonstrated a scenario in which a user asks Siri about his mother’s flight and lunch plans, and the assistant retrieves the necessary information from the Mail and Messages apps. This was presented as an example of a new level of interaction with personal data.

Siri

According to sources, the development of the updated Siri faced a number of problems, which is why Apple decided to use Google Gemini technology. At the same time, the assistant will formally continue to work on the basis of the new Apple Intelligence model, into which the Gemini solution will be integrated.

Apple does not plan to stop there. Gurman claims that in iOS 27, the company intends to turn Siri into a full-fledged chatbot capable of maintaining long dialogues with users. In fact, Siri will become an analog of ChatGPT or Gemini, but without the need to install a separate application.

According to Mark Gurman, the upcoming Siri chatbot will be “competitive with Gemini 3” and will surpass the personalized version of the assistant that will appear in iOS 26.4. It is also noted that Siri chatbot can potentially work directly on Google servers.
