Samsung’s next Galaxy Unpacked presentation is scheduled for July 22. The event is expected to feature a lineup of updated foldable devices, including not just one, but two versions of the Galaxy Fold 8 smartphone. While Apple keeps its fans waiting for the first foldable iPhone, Samsung is striving to expand its dominance in this market segment. The next step toward achieving this goal will be taken at the upcoming event in London on July 22.

At the moment, there is little concrete information about the program for the London show. Samsung itself has only stated its intention to showcase the latest innovations in the Galaxy family, which are expected to solidify its leadership position in the field of flexible gadgets. However, if you’ve been closely following the latest insider reports and leaks, it becomes clear that we can expect the announcement of two or even three new smartphones, as well as a potential update to the Galaxy Watch series.

The debut of the new Galaxy Flip 8 can be considered practically a done deal. This compact foldable phone is expected to feature an improved hinge mechanism, higher performance, and, likely, a lighter weight. However, don’t expect a major redesign: due to a global shortage of RAM, significant upgrades in 2026 have proven too costly.

Instead, a much more interesting scenario appears to be the release of two different Galaxy Fold 8 configurations at once. According to rumors, the base model will feature a wider internal display, providing a more suitable aspect ratio for watching movies and TV shows when unfolded. Unfortunately, to keep the price affordable, the standard Fold 8 may be equipped with only two main camera lenses, whereas its predecessor, the Fold 7, had a triple-lens module.

At the same time, the launch of the top-of-the-line Galaxy Fold 8 Ultra is expected. This premium version is expected to feature advanced displays with an almost imperceptible crease, the latest processor, three rear cameras, and possibly faster charging speeds. However, there are doubts about the complete accuracy of these names and specifications. It seems more logical that the wider screen would be reserved for the flagship Ultra model, while the base model would retain the design that Samsung used in the current Fold 7.

Regardless of the details, the simultaneous announcement of two different “book-style” foldable devices at a single event would be an unprecedented move, so this event is definitely worth keeping a close eye on. Moreover, given the mysterious teasers about a smartphone with wider proportions that Samsung has posted on social media, the Fold lineup is undoubtedly in for some fundamental changes.

Furthermore, there’s a chance we’ll see the new Galaxy Watch 9 and Galaxy Watch Ultra 2 smartwatches at the presentation, as well as Samsung’s long-awaited Android XR mixed-reality glasses. On the other hand, it would come as no surprise if the company decides to hold off on the full release of some or all of these devices until the fall.

To learn more, you can watch the presentation livestream on Samsung.com or on the YouTube page set up specifically for the livestream. The event starts on July 22 at 4:00 p.m. Kyiv time.
