According to new leaks, Samsung’s upcoming Galaxy Watch Ultra 2 smartwatch will receive a significant battery upgrade. As a result, the battery will be about twice as large as the one used in conventional Wear OS watches, which will mean a significantly higher level of autonomy.
Galaxy Watch Ultra is already equipped with a fairly powerful 590 mAh battery, which for most users easily provides more than a day of battery life. However, Samsung seems to intend to significantly increase this figure in the new model.

According to SamMobile’s sources, the Galaxy Watch Ultra 2 will receive a 784 mAh battery, which will likely be positioned as a battery with almost 800 mAh. In terms of nominal capacity alone, this means an increase of more than 30%.
This figure is extremely large for the Wear OS ecosystem. For comparison, the same report claims that the Galaxy Watch 9 in the 40 mm version, i.e. the smallest of Samsung’s upcoming smartwatches, will have a battery with a nominal capacity of 382 mAh. The Pixel Watch 4 in the 41 mm version is equipped with a 325 mAh battery, while the Pixel Watch 4 in the 45 mm version has a 455 mAh battery. Thus, the Galaxy Watch Ultra 2 will almost double the battery capacity compared to most other Wear OS smartwatches.

It’s not yet known how long the new battery will last in practice, but autonomy is likely to be one of the main arguments in favor of the device. It’s also good to see that after two years of using the same platform, the first full-fledged successor to the Galaxy Watch Ultra looks like it will be a truly significant upgrade. Samsung’s new smartwatch is expected to be powered by Qualcomm’s Snapdragon Wear Elite chip.
The Galaxy Watch Ultra 2 is rumored to be unveiled on July 22 during the Galaxy Unpacked event. As part of this presentation, the brand is expected to show a trio of foldable smartphones, including Galaxy Flip8, Galaxy Fold8, and a variation of Galaxy Fold8 Ultra.
