Nothing has also announced a new addition to its wireless earbud lineup – the Ear (3a) – which sits between the more affordable Ear (a) and the flagship Ear (3). They feature several interesting capabilities, including the Audio Snapshot feature, which allows users to record short clips such as voice messages or lecture excerpts thanks to 32 MB of flash memory. According to Engadget, recording is activated by simultaneously squeezing both earbuds, and once finished, the clips are synced with the Nothing X app, where they can be listened to, edited, shared, and transcribed into text.

The earbuds feature 12-mm dynamic drivers, delivering deeper bass and greater detail compared to previous models. They also support LDAC streaming, an 8-band equalizer in the proprietary app, and spatial audio. Like the Ear (a) model, these earbuds offer ANC up to 45 dB. According to Nothing, noise cancellation has become more effective thanks to improved algorithms.

The Ear (3a) retains Nothing’s signature style and, in addition to the standard black and white colors, is also available in pink and yellow. Additionally, new XS-sized ear tips have been introduced, which will provide a more comfortable fit for a wider range of users. Nothing claims that battery life, including the charging case, is up to 42 hours, and the earbuds themselves can last up to 10 hours without recharging when ANC is turned off. However, when active noise cancellation is enabled, the total listening time is reduced to 25 hours.
The Nothing Ear (3a) is now available for purchase at a price of $99/€99/£99.
