NVIDIA has officially announced DLSS 4.5 Ray Reconstruction. This innovative neural rendering tool is based on the DLSS 4.5 architecture, which already includes the second-generation Super Resolution transformer model, Dynamic Multi Frame Generation, 6X frame generation, and an improved Frame Generation model. The development was created for all GeForce RTX series graphics cards and is aimed at improving image quality in gaming projects with path tracing and full ray tracing.

DLSS 4.5

DLSS 4.5 Ray Reconstruction completely replaces traditional denoising engines that developers had to manually configure before. Instead, it uses a single AI network trained on NVIDIA supercomputers. It combines Super Resolution’s noise reduction and scaling processes into a single algorithm, analyzing temporal and spatial data from the game engine to intelligently reconstruct clear pixels in noisy areas of the frame where ray sampling density was insufficient.

Technological components and architectural changes in DLSS 4.5 Ray Reconstruction:

  • More efficient denoiser: The new model demonstrates 35% higher computing power and processes 20% more internal parameters, while maintaining the same level of performance compared to the previous version.

  • Improved Super Resolution: The algorithm has gained deeper spatial awareness of each scene, using motion vectors and game engine data more accurately. This optimizes the accuracy of light propagation, temporal stability, and clarity of moving objects.

  • Extended training set: The neural network is trained on a much larger amount of data, so it more accurately selects the correct information from the game code to restore frames that are close to the reference original.

  • Flexible control for developers: Developers now have the tools to fine-tune the temporal accumulation to adapt the model to a specific visual component.

Practical benefits of integration in games:

  • In Indiana Jones and the Great Circle, the technology eliminates the snow ghosting effect and makes the display of small particles clearer
  • In PRAGMATA, residual graphic artifacts after lasers are turned off are reduced and lighting response to flashes is accelerated
  • In Alan Wake 2, in scenes with older CRT TVs, static white noise lines are reproduced with greater clarity and stability.

DLSS 4.5 Ray Reconstruction will be officially released in August 2026 via the NVIDIA App for the entire GeForce RTX lineup. At the announcement stage, 27 games support the technology: Alan Wake 2, Avatar: Frontiers of Pandora, Backrooms: Escape Together, Call of Duty: Black Ops 7, Crimson Desert, Cyberpunk 2077, Death Relives, Directive 8020, DOOM: The Dark Ages, Enlisted, EVERSPACE 2, F1 25, FBC: Firebreak, Half-Life 2 RTX, Hogwarts Legacy, Incursion Red River, Indiana Jones and the Great Circle, NARAKA: BLADEPOINT, NTE (Neverness to Everness), Portal with RTX, PRAGMATA, Resident Evil Requiem, Samson, Star Wars Outlaws, Subliminal, Sword of Justice, and The First Descendant.

In the fall of 2026, as part of the Blender 5.3 update, the DLSS 4.5 Ray Reconstruction tool will be integrated into the Blender Cycles rendering engine as an alternative denoiser (an extension of the previous OptiX integration). This will allow 3D artists to interact with objects in the preview window, instantly seeing the final lighting quality without waiting for a long render.

In total, the RTX hardware acceleration ecosystem based on RT and tensor cores has covered more than 1,000 games and applications in 8 years (since the release of GeForce RTX 2080 in August 2018) thanks to scaling, ray tracing, and AI algorithms.

DLSS 4.5 integration schedule and specifications for future game releases:

  • Duet Night Abyss (June 2): A major update (Silver Torrent chapter, Rising Star, Calamity Weapon system, and Ensemble Act mode) will bring native support for DLSS 4.5 Super Resolution and Dynamic Multi Frame Generation with the ability to activate 6X mode on GeForce RTX 50 series graphics cards (instead of the previous 4X mode testing).

  • NARAKA: BLADEPOINT (June 5): Super Resolution version update to 4.5 to improve picture quality in the mode without ray tracing activated.

  • Gothic 1 Remake (June 5): Full release with native support for DLSS 4.5 Super Resolution and Dynamic Multi Frame Generation.

  • Marvel Rivals (June 12): The multiplayer shooter update will introduce native support for DLSS 4.5 Super Resolution and Dynamic Multi Frame Generation (players can now enjoy Multi Frame Generation, Super Resolution, and Reflex technologies, which reduces system latency by 55%).

  • Squad (June 15): The update will add native DLSS 4.5 Super Resolution and Dynamic Multi Frame Generation integration with support for up to 6X frame multiplication.

  • Hell Let Loose: Vietnam (June 18): The military simulator (large-scale battles 50 on 50, Warfare and Offensive modes) will be released with support for Super Resolution 4.5 algorithms.

  • Phantom Blade Zero (fall 2026): The project will be released with the integration of DLSS 4.5, Dynamic Multi Frame Generation, Super Resolution, and exclusive PC effects (reflection, shadow, and caustic tracing).

  • CINDER CITY: The tactical shooter based on Unreal Engine 5 will support Lumen global lighting, NVIDIA RTXDI effects, as well as DLSS 4.5 Dynamic Multi Frame Generation and Super Resolution technologies right at release. The game will also be available in the GeForce NOW cloud.

  • Backrooms: Escape Together: The patch will update Super Resolution to version 4.5. Also, the Dynamic Multi Frame Generation mode with index 6X will be available for owners of the GeForce RTX 50 series.

  • Honeycomb: The World Beyond: The game will be released with support for DLSS 4.5 Dynamic Multi Frame Generation, Super Resolution, NVIDIA RTXDI algorithm for optimizing light sources, and Ray Reconstruction tool.

  • Where Winds Meet: In the near future, the game will receive a patch with the transition to DLSS 4.5 Super Resolution and Dynamic Multi Frame Generation for maximum frame overclocking on GeForce RTX 50 Series GPUs.
