OPPO has introduced Reno16 and Reno16 Pro smartphones. The new generation of Reno has flat OLED displays, triple cameras on the back, as well as MediaTek Dimensity chips and capacious batteries. So far, both smartphones are only available in China, but the lineup will enter the international market in June or July.
OPPO Reno16 features a 6.32-inch flat OLED display with a resolution of 2640×1216, a refresh rate of up to 120 Hz and a local peak brightness of up to 3600 nits. Its “big brother” has a larger, 6.78-inch OLED panel with a resolution of 2772×1272 and a similar refresh rate of 120 Hz. Both smartphones support 10-bit color display and high-frequency PWM brightness control.

Under the hood, the Reno16 is powered by a MediaTek Dimensity 8550 SUPER chip, which is complemented by 12 GB or 16 GB of RAM, as well as 256 GB, 512 GB, or 1 TB of flash storage. A 6700 mAh battery with 80W fast charging support is responsible for the battery life.

Meanwhile, the Pro version uses a MediaTek Dimensity 9500s processor and 12GB or 16GB LPDDR5X RAM. It also features a 7000 mAh battery with 80W fast wired charging and 50W wireless charging.

Both smartphones run on ColorOS 16 based on Android 15, but OPPO has not yet confirmed a software update policy for the Chinese versions of the devices. For photography and video, Reno16 and Reno16 Pro have a triple camera setup with a 200MP Samsung HP5 primary sensor, a 50MP ultra-wide-angle camera, and a 50MP Samsung JN5 periscopic telephoto lens with 3.5x optical zoom and OIS. For selfies and video calls, both smartphones have a 50-megapixel front camera with autofocus.

Other features include stereo speakers, an in-display fingerprint scanner, NFC, Bluetooth 5.4, USB Type-C, an IR port, dual-SIM support with 5G, Wi-Fi 6 in Reno16 and Wi-Fi 7 in Reno16 Pro, and IP66, IP68, IP69, and IP69K protection.

The OPPO Reno16 will start at $513 for the 12/256GB configuration, while the 16GB/1TB version will cost approximately $719. The smartphone will be available in Moonlit Night Black, Galaxy Purple, and Heart-Fluttering Stars colors. OPPO Reno16 Pro will cost from $545 for the version with 12 GB of RAM and 256 GB of flash memory. The smartphone is available in Moonlit Night Black, Dreamy Blue, and Heart-Fluttering Stars colors.
