A new phase of development is beginning in the foldable smartphone segment, as many manufacturers are designing larger-format devices to compete in the premium sector. Samsung is expected to unveil the Galaxy Fold 8 Wide in July, but developers in China are also working on similar products. OPPO is among them, and after key details about its upcoming wide foldable device emerged earlier this month, a recent leak has revealed more details about the brand’s future plans.
Chinese insider Smart Pikachu reported that OPPO’s next-generation foldable device, currently codenamed OPPO Find N7 Wide, may feature display technologies designed to make the fold line significantly less noticeable. The source also suggested that the back of the device will feature a camera module with horizontally arranged lenses.

The same source reported that experts are testing the OPPO Find X10 Ultra, which features extremely narrow bezels around the display, capable of providing a more immersive viewing experience. In addition, there are mentions of a circular rear camera module, which will continue the design concept that has become familiar to many premium flagship models from China.

Earlier this month, another insider, Digital Chat Station, reported that OPPO is testing a new wide, book-style foldable device, which could debut in the first quarter of 2027. According to available information, the prototype is equipped with an internal flexible screen measuring approximately 7.6 inches, as well as a 5.5-inch external display. Samsung Display and BOE were involved in the production of the panels.

The same leak claimed that the device will be powered by Qualcomm’s upcoming Snapdragon 8 Elite Gen 6 chipset, manufactured using a 2-nanometer process. At the same time, OPPO is designing a next-generation hinge system to minimize the crease on the screen, and this claim is now consistent with the latest information from insider Smart Pikachu.
