According to new data leaks, Redmi is preparing a real revolution in autonomy by developing three smartphone models, each of which will have a 10,000 mAh battery. Technological advances have allowed manufacturers to significantly extend the operating time of gadgets without recharging. An insider at Digital Chat Station said on Weibo that Redmi is working on a trio of devices with super-powerful batteries. In addition to the record capacity, all three new products will support wired charging with a capacity of more than 100 W. It is expected that future representatives of the Redmi Note and Redmi K lines will have such characteristics.

It is worth noting that Redmi Note models for the Chinese market usually differ in specifications from the international versions, which appear several months later. In addition, the Redmi K series traditionally remains exclusive to China. This suggests that smartphones with 10,000 mAh batteries may not go beyond the Chinese domestic market.

Although some Redmi K models sometimes enter the global market under the POCO brand, experts believe that even in this case, devices with similar batteries will be available only in Asia. The main reason is the design: the new Redmi batteries are single-cell, which creates certain legal and logistical obstacles for their sale in the EU.

In Europe, two-cell batteries are preferred. This allows each individual cell to meet international energy safety standards for transportation. A large single-cell battery may exceed these limits, which entails stricter transportation requirements in the EU and other regions. As a result, logistics costs for manufacturers are rising, which will inevitably lead to higher prices for smartphones for end users in these markets.

Currently, the record holder in terms of capacity among the brand’s devices is Redmi Turbo 5 Max, which is equipped with a 9000 mAh battery with support for 100-watt charging. By the way, it is unlikely that such fast charging will be available in the US in the near future. Currently, there is a limit of 80 watts, as American operators fear the risk of overheating and fire. It will be a long time before American users will have access to charging speeds exceeding 100 watts.
