Information from the well-known insider Digital Chat Station points to serious problems for the future of Xiaomi’s Civi mobile devices. In response to a question from one of the users, the insider confirmed that production of this lineup has been completely halted, and there are no indications of its possible return in the plans for developing next-generation devices.

This information puts an end to the prolonged discussions and conflicting predictions regarding the future of this model series, which have been ongoing for the past several months. Recently, there were reports that the Xiaomi Civi 6 would indeed be released and would feature a 200-megapixel camera, the flagship Snapdragon 8 Elite platform, and even a dedicated physical button for interacting with AI. This information was published following earlier statements that the release of the sixth version had been completely canceled due to unsatisfactory sales results for the previous model.

Given the latest data from Digital Chat Station, it is now clear that the Chinese manufacturer has opted to permanently phase out the Civi sub-brand altogether, abandoning the idea of simply pausing production for one year. Instead, the developers apparently plan to focus primarily on developing the T-series devices. Last month, the company held its first official presentation of the Xiaomi 17T lineup in China.

The history of the Civi family began in 2021, when it was introduced as a special design series emphasizing aesthetics and high-quality photography capabilities. Over the course of its existence, the project has seen numerous updates, including the original Civi, the 1S, 2, and 3 models, as well as the 4 Pro and 5 Pro versions, which were sold under the alternative name Xiaomi 15 Civi in certain regional markets. However, unstable consumer demand in various countries around the world has made continued support for this model line economically unfeasible for Xiaomi.

As of now, Xiaomi’s management has refrained from issuing official statements that could confirm or deny reports of the project’s cancellation. For now, experts advise treating this information merely as another piece of evidence in a rather convoluted story, and they promise to update this article as soon as official comments from the brand’s representatives are released.
