The new Xiaomi 17 Max smartphone, serial number 2605EPN8EC, has successfully passed 3C quality certification in China, the next step after receiving approval from the wireless regulator SRRC. The passage of these two mandatory stages indicates that the device is fully ready for the market. Xiaomi has already confirmed that the official presentation will take place before the end of May. The developers have abandoned the additional display on the back to make room for a huge battery.
The specifications confirmed by the source of Digital Chat Station indicate the use of an 8000 mAh battery, which is a record capacity for smartphones under the main Xiaomi brand, if we do not take into account the Redmi line. To maintain such autonomy, a 100 W wired charger is provided, which allows you to fully fill the battery in about one hour, as well as 50 W wireless charging.
In terms of hardware, the device will feature the most advanced Snapdragon 8 Elite Gen 5 processor, a large 6.9-inch flat OLED screen with a resolution of 1.5K, a 200-megapixel main camera, and a periscopic telephoto lens. Sales in China are expected to start in late May. SRRC certification is responsible for controlling wireless communication, while 3C guarantees electrical safety and compliance with power standards. The rapid passage of both inspections indicates that mass production is in the final stages. Following the April registration with the SRRC, the May 3C approval is a classic sign of an imminent release.
Although the exact day of the presentation has not yet been announced, Xiaomi has been consistently preparing the audience for the May announcement. The 8000 mAh battery makes this smartphone the most durable in the brand’s portfolio. For comparison, the 17 Pro Max version is equipped with a 7500 mAh battery, while the new product adds another 500 mAh with a larger screen of 6.9 inches. This energy density was achieved thanks to the silicon-carbon composition of the batteries, which allows increasing the capacity without significantly increasing the size or weight of the case.
