It’s only been a week since patch 1.10 was released, but Pearl Abyss has already released Crimson Desert 1.11.00 for all platforms except the Mac App Store, as updates traditionally appear a little later for this platform. Thus, the company continues its impressive pace of post-release updates.
The new patch expands the ability to control pets, redesigns the recently added pinball mini-game, adds a mechanic for recovering lost equipment through merchants, and contains a number of improvements to the combat system and controls.

The main innovation is new tests that allow increasing the maximum number of registered pets from the previous limit to 100. At the same time, no more than 50 pets can be summoned to the camp at the same time. Players who have already completed the relevant tests before will receive new rewards automatically. In addition, wyvern cubs have their own mark on the map, and the pet system will now save their names when they grow up.

One of the most user-friendly changes is the ability to redeem lost rare equipment from merchants across Pivel. This applies to rare items obtained from treasure chests, quests, and other sources. Such items will appear in stores within seven days after the loss and will be sold at a price higher than the original price.

The patch also introduces a number of targeted changes to the pinball mini-game, and they should reduce the growing irritation of players. The developers have adjusted the physics of the ball to make it feel heavier and the layout of the playing field elements, as well as fixed several issues such as the ball passing through walls, getting stuck in the upper left corner, and falling out incorrectly after launch.

The playable characters Damiane and Oongka can now use the Mining Drill and Chainsaw. Also fixed a bug that prevented the Spirit stat from increasing with Focus level. In wyvern battles, changes have been made to allow you to use Axiom Force to land on a creature without having to learn the Back Hang skill first. In addition, the problem of excessive consumption of stamina during attacks on wyverns on the ground has been fixed. The developers have also adjusted the attack patterns of golems, and the Explosive Evasive Shot and Multishot abilities now better activate additional effects when using special arrows.

After the update, controller users will be able to reassign buttons to open Inventory, Map, Skills, Journal, and Photo Mode. And in Photo Mode, you can now completely disable the Depth of Field effect. Also, the riding animals will no longer appear in dangerous areas.
Recently, Pearl Abyss Marketing Director Will Powers confirmed the importance of such constant free updates – they actually serve as an alternative marketing strategy. And this approach works well: Crimson Desert recently reached a new sales record of 6 million copies in less than three months since its release.
